Bien qu'un r\u00e9seau \u00e9tendu bas\u00e9 sur MPLS soit fiable, il n'est pas extensible. \u00c9tant donn\u00e9 que les entreprises utilisent des <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sdxcentral.com\/cloud\/definitions\/what-is-cloud\/\">le nuage<\/a> De plus en plus pour les applications critiques, elles ont besoin d'\u00e9volutivit\u00e9 et d'une plus grande bande passante. Une solution SD-WAN comme celle de VMware compl\u00e8te le r\u00e9seau MPLS existant d'une entreprise par une connectivit\u00e9 \u00e0 large bande et LTE. Les connexions alternatives ont l'avantage d'\u00eatre moins ch\u00e8res, plus rapides que MPLS, de fournir plus de bande passante et d'\u00eatre accessibles.  <\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>En m\u00eame temps, les connexions internet publiques ont leurs limites. Avec l'internet public, le temps de disponibilit\u00e9 n'est pas n\u00e9cessairement le m\u00eame et les donn\u00e9es n'arrivent pas \u00e0 destination de mani\u00e8re aussi fiable. Pour y rem\u00e9dier, VMware SD-WAN surveille, mesure et optimise automatiquement les chemins de trafic en temps r\u00e9el. Cela permet de s'assurer que les connexions Internet publiques sur lesquelles transitent les donn\u00e9es fonctionnent \u00e0 des niveaux suffisants. De plus, en cas de mauvaise connexion, les donn\u00e9es peuvent \u00eatre transf\u00e9r\u00e9es vers une connexion plus op\u00e9rationnelle, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vmware.com\/products\/sd-wan-by-velocloud\/bandwidth-demand.html#benefits\" target=\"_blank\">m\u00eame si l'autre connexion provient d'un autre FAI<\/a>. <\/p>\n<!-- \/divi:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- divi:paragraph -->\n<p>Les VPN peuvent \u00eatre automatiquement \u00e9tablis lorsque les politiques de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 sont d\u00e9clench\u00e9es. Les politiques sont d\u00e9finies par le logiciel orchestrateur du r\u00e9seau, qui est contr\u00f4l\u00e9 par les administrateurs du r\u00e9seau dans un lieu central. Ces sites d\u00e9centralis\u00e9s se retrouvent alors avec des bo\u00eetiers \u00e0 fonction fixe inefficaces. Le d\u00e9ploiement et la maintenance de ces bo\u00eetiers sont \u00e0 la fois complexes et co\u00fbteux. Le VMware SD-WAN relie les succursales au reste du r\u00e9seau gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son dispositif SD-WAN Edge. L'un de ces dispositifs, qui ex\u00e9cute plusieurs VNF, peut remplacer un groupe de bo\u00eetiers \u00e0 fonction fixe. VMware also emphasizes that the product is effective at virtualising the infrastructure of an enterprise\u2019s branch locations.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Redvine currently runs and operates Gateways across South Africa and multiple locations across Africa, this is under the official license from Velocloud.  <\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":4} -->\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Components of the VMware SD-WAN<\/strong><\/h4>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vmware.com\/products\/sd-wan-by-velocloud.html#solutioncomponents\" target=\"_blank\">VMware SD-WAN Edge, SD-WAN Gateway, and SD-WAN Orchestrator<\/a> combine to provide the various features of the VMware offering.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.velocloud.com\/products\/\" target=\"_blank\">SD-WAN Edge<\/a> is an x86-based CPE that runs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sdxcentral.com\/networking\/virtualization\/definitions\/what-is-a-virtual-network\/\">virtual network<\/a> services (VNFs). Its function is to connect an office or location to cloud applications, compute resources, and virtualized services. It connects to the system of VMware <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sdxcentral.com\/networking\/sd-wan\/definitions\/software-defined-sdn-wan\/\">SD-WAN<\/a> Gateways.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The Gateways are deployed at data centers to optimize traffic paths for assured performance and provide <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sdxcentral.com\/security\/definitions\/what-is-software-defined-security\/\">security<\/a> services <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.velocloud.com\/products\/features\" target=\"_blank\">like firewalls<\/a>.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vmware.com\/content\/dam\/digitalmarketing\/vmware\/en\/pdf\/product\/vmware-enterprise-wan-agility-solution-overview.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">SD-WAN Orchestrator<\/a> provisions business policies network-wide that make the network adapt to meet business goals. While an MPLS-based WAN is reliable, it is not scalable. Since enterprises are using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sdxcentral.com\/cloud\/definitions\/what-is-cloud\/\">the cloud<\/a> more and more for mission-critical applications, they need scalability and more bandwidth. An SD-WAN solution like VMware\u2019s adds to an enterprise\u2019s existing MPLS with broadband and LTE connectivity. The alternative connections have the benefits of being cheaper, faster than MPLS, providing more bandwidth, and being accessible.  <\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>At the same time, public internet connections have their limitations. With the public internet, there is not necessarily the same amount of uptime and data doesn\u2019t get to its destination as reliably. To combat this, the VMware SD-WAN automatically monitors, measures, and optimizes traffic paths in real-time. This ensures the public internet connections that data travels on are operating at sufficient levels. Also, in the case of a bad connection, data can be transferred to a more operable connection, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vmware.com\/products\/sd-wan-by-velocloud\/bandwidth-demand.html#benefits\" target=\"_blank\">even if the other connection is from a different ISP<\/a>. <\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>VPNs can automatically be established when security policies are triggered. The policies are defined by the orchestrator software of the network, which is controlled by network administrators in a central location. This secures connections between any enterprise locations, data centers, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sdxcentral.com\/cloud\/\">the cloud<\/a>.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> <strong>VMware SD-WAN for Branch Offices<\/strong> <\/h3>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Traditional WANs and certain SD-WANs do not extend virtualization into the branch. These decentralized locations then are left with inefficient fixed-function boxes. Deployment and maintenance of such boxes are both complex and expensive. The VMware SD-WAN connects branch locations to the rest of the network with its SD-WAN Edge device. One of those devices running multiple VNFs can replace a group of fixed-function boxes. Plus, since the SD-WAN Edge device virtualized the branch equipment, network visibility extends to network activity in the branch LAN.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The VMware offering\u2019s orchestration abilities mean even if the branch is a remote office or a remote worker, employees can connect to the rest of the WAN and the end destination of an application\u2019s data. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sdxcentral.com\/security\/\">Security<\/a> policies, quality of service, and application access control can be orchestrated no matter where the worker, or application, is.
